Who we are

Fluendo Embedded SL was conceived in 2006 with the aim of developing an open source media center built on top of the powerful GStreamer Multimedia framework. Moovida gave birth in May 2009, after 3 years of development under the name Elisa Media Center. Moovida is designed to offer a simple and intuitive interface to manage and enjoy all types of media on TV & PC. Its open architecture allows everyone, from individuals to third party companies, to develop plugins for content and services to be added to Moovida's digital ecosystem.

Fluendo Embedded SL is the youngest of 3 companies belonging to the Fluendo family. Its counterparts are Fluendo, leader in fully-licensed multimedia solutions for Linux based desktops and devices, and Flumotion, provider for the only cross-format streaming media encoder as well as open source platform server.

Open Source is at the core of all solutions developed by Fluendo Embedded. In a fragmented industry where most major players develop their own proprietary formats and solutions and where interoperability between hardware and software is limited, only a media center built in an open environment can offer a platform modular enough to be the cornerstone of a digital ecosystem.

Moovida's open nature allows developers to contribute to the code and empowers any company or user to develop additional features and/or content to enrich the Moovida user experience.
